Dubai Blockchain Center signs MoU with European Blockchain Association

Dubai Blockchain Center (DBCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Blockchain Association (EBA) to enhance Dubai´s and the UAE’s collaboration with Europe. The partnership is set to build bridges to drive Blockchain best-practices, foster digitalization in general and help set profound guard rails for a sustainable regulatory framework.  

The agreement also aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the two parties, in an effort to support education for students, executives, and authorities in advanced fields like Blockchain, web3, DeFi, AI and Metaverse, among others. It strives to engage the two entities in bilateral promotion, events, courses, public relations and policies in order to increase visibility and exposure for advanced technology topics and further establish Dubai as a world-leading advanced tech hub.

The MoU was signed by Amro Awaidah, COO of Dubai Blockchain Center and Dr. Michael Gebert, Chairman of the European Blockchain Association and supervised by Christian Gleich, International Ambassador of the European Blockchain Association.

The partnership sealed in this MoU by the Dubai Blockchain Center and the European Blockchain Association will thus foster Digital Transformation and the growth of Digital Economy in both territories.”

Under the terms of the agreement Dubai Blockchain Center commits to facilitating educational coordination with the European Blockchain Association’s EDU DAO Workgroup, co-organizing expert certificate training programs for executives from government and non-government entities and acting as a partner of choice to EBA on projects, inquiries and implementations related to Blockchain, web3, DeFi, AI and Metaverse.

Furthermore, DBCC will grant approval to EBA to be mentioned as official partner. DBCC also agrees to provide its venue (or other associated venues, e.g. Area 2071) as a go-to-location on a best effort basis for EBA to plan meetings with organizations planning to open a legal entity in Dubai or discuss relevant projects, in addition to facilitating on-the-ground educational courses with EBA, providing all necessary equipment.

For its part, the European Blockchain Association will take on Blockchain education for executives and students and also provide certifications of completion. EBA will also participate in research and policymaking in compliance with the Dubai leadership, offer legal and regulatory support for the topics of Blockchain, web3, DeFi, AI and Metaverse and raise awareness and produce visibility for Dubai as the global Blockchain capital.

The Association commits to recommending Dubai as the world-leading digital economy hub for companies in addition to co-leading events on Blockchain, web3, DeFi, AI and Metaverse.

The two entities intend to continuously follow up on their respective responsibilities and become vice-versa members in each other’s organizations.
